Early last week, copies of Pokemon Moon and Pokemon Sun began circulating online. Now, Nintendo has taken action against those who have downloaded the demo.
Players who have downloaded illegal copies of Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are reporting that they can not longer connect to Nintendo’s online services. Of course, this affects those wishing to play games online, or accessing the Nintendo e-shop, resulting in loss of digital purchases.
Nintendo made the following statement regarding the issue: “As a result of a number of Nintendo 3DS users using unauthorized versions of several games, and connecting to the official game servers in violation of our terms of service, these users’ Nintendo 3DS systems that stored the unauthorized game code have been banned from Nintendo’s online network effective immediately.”
It should not affect anyone who has legitimately received the game, whether that be through reviewing or receiving the official cartridge before it’s official release date.
Pokemon Sun & Pokemon Moon arrive tomorrow, November 18th, for the Nintendo 3DS system family.
