Nintendo is bringing a bit more than expected with their upcoming title, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
For probably the first time in the entire series, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was confirmed, in an IGN Portugal interview, to have an alternate ending based on criteria you fulfilled throughout the game. The closest the franchise has ever gotten to having true alternate endings was back in 2009, with The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, which allowed you to choose one of three “endings” when prompted at the very end by Zelda. While that was almost solely an aesthetic choice for the ending cutscene only, the interview makes it seem as if it’s based on your in-game actions leading up to that point, which is an interesting prospect for the series.
In other, less startling news, Link’s iconic steed Epona is also confirmed to be returning. No information on how to obtain her was provided, which could hint at it being part of the main story, or the result of an important sidequest within the game.
Late this week, InformedPixel will try out the Nintendo Switch along with the library of software announced for the system. Stay tuned to our front page for more information about our Nintendo Switch coverage.
