Early review impressions are pointing to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild becoming the best game of this generation.
A review by EDGE magazine was revealed ahead of its embargo, with the game given a perfect 10/10. EDGE magazine has been reputable for delivering tougher than average scores, so seeing a publication like this give a game a perfect score shows a lot.
If that wasn’t enough, German Gamepro recently reviewed the game, giving it a 94/100; the second highest score it has ever given, with Grand Theft Auto V being the only game to beat it at 95/100.
Here are some other quotes that outlets have made about so far:
“Breath of the Wild will knock you flat on your ass” – Polygon.com
“I can tell you is that Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the title with which everyone hoped the Nintendo Switch would launch. It’s the most expansive Zelda title to date and may be the most ambitious game Nintendo has ever produced.” – Shacknews.com
“Breath of the Wild embodies the freedom and danger that made the first Zelda game so enthralling, and captures the feeling of awe that came when Ocarina of Time hit the scene, in this case by layering unspoken variables into seemingly every facet of the game.” – GameSpot.com
