In line with Nintendo’s recent flood of mobile apps, The Pokemon Company has announced Pokeland, seemingly a mobile successor to their Pokemon Rumble franchise, if the presence of the franchise’s cutesy “toy” artstyle is anything to go off of.
According to the Japanese website, Pokeland is about travelling from island to island with various “Toy Pokemon”. It’s also apparently always-online, although the multiplayer aspects of the game are unknown as of the current time. We can safely assume there will be some sort of trading aspect though, typical of the Pokemon franchise.
Currently the game is undergoing an alpha test on Android devices in Japan, and the final release date is unknown.
