The original Pokemon Gold & Pokemon Silver titles will receive a boxed re-release for the Nintendo 3DS in Europe and Japan.
Each copy will include a digital copy of the game, along with a set of Pokemon stickers, magnets, and a wall-charted themed for the version you purchase; either Pokemon Gold or Pokemon Silver. An image of the boxes can be seen in the official tweet from Nintendo of Europe.
While there is no word on if Pokemon Gold & Pokemon Silver will receive boxed releases in North America, both titles will still launch on September 22nd through the Nintendo e-shop.
Both versions of the game will also be compatible with Pokemon Bank, a service that was enabled for Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Yellow to let users transfer their Pokemon into Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. With the addition of the second generation Pokemon, it should make it more accessible for users to complete their Pokedex in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.
Pokemon Gold & Pokemon Silver will release digitally for the Nintendo 3DS on September 22nd, 2017.
