Upon hearing the announcement of the new Legend of Zelda title for the 3DS, I was skeptical as it seemed to just be another ‘Four Swords’ adventure. For those unaware of the title, Four Swords seemed to feel more like an arcade title than a real Zelda experience. The epic dungeons weren’t there, the bosses were uneventful and the game felt incomplete. When The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes was revealed via the Nintendo Digital Evenr, we were skeptical up to the point we got our hands on the game.
Three of us decided to give this game a shot at E3 and are happy we did. In our playthrough, we traversed through a dungeon by acting as a trio of heroes. This new Zelda adventure absolutely requires consistent teamwork in order to be successful in solving puzzles, exploring dungeons and even defeating bosses. Through the very careful communication from myself and my other two teammates (along with some bomb throwing towards each other throughout the game), we were able to successfully tackle the puzzles and take down the final boss which did have a feeling of challenge associated with it.
While we were playing, we felt that the dungeon and bosses we saw in the game were something you would find in any other Zelda game. From having to work together to move blocks, stack on top of each other and throw one another to a switch to make it through the puzzle seemed to be quite exhilarating. It was unanimous that we felt the same sense of accomplishment as we did when we played other Zelda titles, and that was great.
