Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (and presumably 3DS) will be seeing a new update on July 31st.
The long-awaited Tournament mode will finally be arriving for Super Smash Bros for Wii U. This mode features two different tournament settings called Community Tournaments and Regular Tournaments. To our understanding, Community tournaments let players battle it out for the most points set in a given time limit while Regular Tournaments appear to be running during scheduled times.
Nintendo’s recently announced ‘Replay Upload’ feature will also be available in this update. This feature allows players to upload their gameplay clips directly to Youtube from within Super Smash Bros for Wii U, making it unnecessary to use a third-party capture device.
July 31st will also see the arrival of two remade stages: Peach’s Castle and Hyrule Castle. Both of these classic Super Smash Bros. stages are ripped from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64 and will be made available via the Nintendo e-Shop for $1.99 each or $2.99 for both.
Adding to the downloadable offerings, Donkey Kong’s King K. Rool costume, Fire Emblem’s Chrom costume & ‘Parka’ Mii fighter costumes seen below will also be made available via the Nintendo e-shop, although pricing has not been made public as of yet.
