Nintendo has released a plethora of new information for the upcoming games, Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.
Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have started off by revealing Alola forms. Alola forms will not only change the physical appearance of already known Pokemon but will also expand them with updated move sets, Pokemon abilities, and Pokemon types. As of now, Vulpix, Ninetails, Exeggutor, Sandshrew, and Sandslash have been announced, with more to be revealed in the coming months.
Some more Pokemon has also been announced, starting off with Oricorio – a Pokemon with four different styles. Each style features different Pokemon types and appearances. The styles are as follows:
- Baile-style:Â Fire-Flying type
- Pom-Pom Style: Electirc-Flying type
- Pa’u Style: Psychic-Flying type
- Sensu Style: Ghost-Flying.
Oricorio’s Dancer ability copies a Pokemon’s specific dance moves, which will provide a variety of stat bonuses dependant on the opposing Pokemon. Each style is unique to the four island’s found in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.
Some other new Pokemon has also been announced, consisting mainly of pre-evolutions or evolutions of already existing Pokemon such as Gumshoos, the evolution of Yungoos and Mudbray, which evolves into the previously revealed Mudsdale. Other Pokemon such as Fomantis, Lurantis, and Minior can also be seen in the trailer.
The last feature announced for Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon was the addition of Z-Moves. Every Pokemon type consists of a Z-move, which each being a different theatrical move for use in battle. An example of this would by the Water-types Hydro Vortex, which summons a massive whirlpool to the opposing Pokemon, dealing massive damage.
Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon will be released on November 18th, 2016.
