Lonesome Village Release Date Announced!

  • 11 October 2022
  • Deemarie

During the October Steam Next Fest event, developer Ogre Pixel announced a release date for their next title- Lonesome Village. This included a brand-new trailer filled with awesome gameplay snippets.

It seems that games with at least some aspects of the sim genre are having a moment recently. Lonesome Village is a top-down game that is a hybrid of a puzzle-solving adventure with social sim elements. Good news for any sim fans adamant about the inclusion of fishing in any life sim – yes, fishing is one of the activities it has been confirmed you can take part in!

Lonesome Village is the most ambitious project yet from indie game developer Ogre Pixel, whose previous releases were mainly pixel animation-based games: Swipe Casters, Warcher Defenders, and Black Tower Enigma. Lonesome Village carries over some of the charming old-school graphic styles the developer has previously employed while taking their first foray into a longer form, more story, and adventure-based game.

Lonesome Village

The game will see the player take on the role of Wes, a coyote who must set off on an adventure, facing many trials- seeking to help rebuild his home Lonesome Village, and possibly the world outside, after a mysterious disaster strikes.  If you’re curious to get a sneak peek at Wes and some of the other furry friends you may meet on your adventures, Ogre Pixel has also recently begun unveiling character designs and names one by one on their blog along with some neat little factoids on each.

The game has officially been announced as releasing November 1, 2022, and will be available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox.
