After almost a year of silence, Nintendo has announced that the New Nintendo 3DS will be making its way to North America.
Not to be confused with the New Nintendo 3DS XL, the New Nintendo 3DS features a smaller device with swap-able faceplates. The handheld will launch in North America as a Animal Crossing bundle and will include customer Animal Crossing faceplates, an Amiibo card and a copy of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. The bundle will retail for $219.99 in the U.S. while there is still no word on if we will see the standalone system hit markets.
Nintendo has also announced that a new Zelda-themed New Nintendo 3DS XL (Seen below) will launch alongside The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force heroes on October 23rd, 2015. Unfortunately, the new handheld will not include a copy of the game – forcing new purchasers to buy the game separately.
“More than 15 million systems in the Nintendo 3DS family have been sold in the U.S. alone,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “These new models offer additional fun ways to experience some of the great upcoming Nintendo 3DS games launching in the next few months.”
