Nintendo will be changing their E3 strategy this year, by focusing solely on The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Wii U and the upcoming NX.
Starting at 9AM on June 14th, 2016, Nintendo will launch Nintendo Treehouse: Live in place of their usual Nintendo Direct. The stream will run for the duration of the day and will be hosted by Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. While the main focus of the stream would be showcasing the new Zelda game, now delayed until 2017, guest developers and behind the scenes information will also be present.
Nintendo’s booth presence during E3 will be limited as well – with The Legend of Zelda for Wii U being the only playable title during the event. While other games may make a smaller appearance, it seems that Nintendo is putting all of their chips into delivering a ‘Zelda’ experience.
Last week, The Legend of Zelda was delayed until 2017 and was announced to be coming to Nintendo’s latest console, the NX.
