Sony’s Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro hardware has surpassed 60 Million units shipped.
Financial results were shown to the public today, showing that the Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro have shipped more than 20 Million units from the last fiscal year. Sony’s fiscal year goes from April 1st to March 31st, and the simple addition of 20 million units plus the 40 million that shipped prior to this past year show the result of 60 million units.
It is important to keep in mind that these numbers reflect how many were sent to retailers and not sold. The number of hardware units currently owned by consumers is expected to be a bit less, but despite that, these figures are showing strong sales support for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro.
As it stands, the Playstation 4 is well on track to become one of the world’s best-selling video game consoles, with the Playstation 2 currently holding that record with more than 155 million units sold.
