The next system update for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro will consist of several features that consumers have been asking for.
First and foremost, the 4.50 system update will include external HDD Support, for any hard drives up to 8TB in size. The extra space may be used for transferring software, downloadable content, and other forms of media that players normally didn’t have access too without upgrading the internal hard drive.
The rest of the features rolling out have to do with the Playstation 4’s user interface. One such feature is the ability to change the background wallpaper of the Playstation 4, which can now be updated using any screenshot in the player’s arsenal. Excellent tuning features like a simplified notifications list, and a smaller quick menu has been added to improve the user experience.
Change is also rolling out for Playstation VR owners; giving them the ability to watch 3D movies (Such as blu-rays) in stereoscopic 3D via the Playstation VR headset. Now, with Youtube adding support for Playstation VR headsets to watch 360-degree videos, the VR solution for Playstation 4 is turning out to be an all-in-one entertainment option for games and movies alike.
There is no release date for the 4.50 system update, but we would expect to see these features roll out within a couple of weeks.
The Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro is available in retail stores across the nation.
