Happy Pokemon Day every one of our readers. Today marks the 27th birthday of the first Pokemon games to be released in Japan. It has been a long winding road since those games graced the Gameboy, but it seems like there’s no end in sight. This morning we got 20 minutes of news from the World Championship to a DLC announcement.
Starting off the stream was the announcement that the Pokemon World Championship will take place from August 11-13. This year, they are going back home to Yokohama, Japan, and introduced the new official key art. Good luck to all the participants and here’s hoping for a swift victory.
Next on the announcements was the introduction to the Pokemon Trading Card Game “Classic,” which looks like the original card game with a playing field. The original Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise were shown off with their own decks. As this is still in development, we have to wait for more information at the World Championships.
Pokemon and Netflix showed off their new project together called. “Pokemon Concierge.” A stop motion series set on an island resort filled with Pokemon. They only showed a Psyduck and its trainer walking on a beach during the teaser trailer. The caption said “coming soon,” so expect more news in the coming weeks.
Pokemon Day Game News
Pokemon Unite was first in line for the game news. The newest playable creature is Zacian with its move sovereign sword. Zacian’s Weald event is also now underway and completing this event will gain you Zacian’s license. A boss rush event is also underway for even more rewards.
Pokemon Cafe Remix is also getting an update to incorporate the Scarlet and Violet games. Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly are showing up at the cafe. Progress through the event and you can choose one to join your staff. You can also start delivering to the five-star chefs from past events again.
Pokémon Masters EX is celebrating three and a half years and bringing some trainers from Galar into the fold. From March until April, 3 trainers will appear with the three legendary birds. Hop has Galarian Zapdos, Bede has the Galarian Articuno, and Marnie has Galarian Moltres. Leon and his Charizard are also back for a limited time.
After four years of silence, we finally have confirmation and a release window for Pokemon Sleep. This is an app that tracks how you sleep and is categorized by the type of sleep. As it tracks you, more Pokémon that share your sleep pattern will show up to sleep with your Snorlax. You may even find some rare sleeping Pokemon.
Pokemon Go Plus+ was also shown off and will be available in July. The Pokemon Go Plus+ is compatible with Pokemon Sleep and Pokemon Go. You press the button to start your sleep and press it again when you wake up. The one shown has a Pikachu in the device that can sing you lullabies and even act as an alarm. You can also use it to spin Pokestops and catch Pokémon In Pokemon Go.
We have finally gotten to Scarlet and Violet news with two new Paradox variants. Scarlet gets the Suicune paradox Walking Wake, a water/dragon type while Violet gets the Virizion paradox Iron Leaves, a grass/psychic type. These two will be in five-star raid battles until the middle of March. Just like the other special raids, you can only catch one.
You will also soon be able to connect Scarlett and Violet to Pokemon Go. So far all you can do is send postcards from Pokemon Go to Scarlet or Violet to change your Vivillion’s wing patterns. Once you trade postcards, you can find Roaming Form Gimmighoul in Go to catch and evolve. In the next couple of months, Scarlet and Violet will also get Home support.
The last video shown was the DLC announcement for Scarlet and Violet. It’s called The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero and it comes in two parts. Part one is called The Teal Mask and takes place in the land of Kitakami during a festival. Part two is called The Indigo Disk and takes place at the Blueberry sister school, an underwater academy. These DLCs will contain about 230 Pokemon not found in the Paldea region as well as some brand-new creatures.
The names of the new Legendaries are called Ogerpon for Part one and Terapagos for Part two. Part one will also have three Pokémon seen as heroes called Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. These DLCs come together so you can’t purchase them separately. Part one is expected in the fall of this year while Part two is expected in the winter.
