Nintendo is bringing two more classic Pokemon titles to the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS later this year: Pokemon Gold & Pokemon Silver.
The announcement came from the Pokemon-themed Nintendo Direct this morning, where The Pokemon Company announced several titles. These titles won’t be released for the Nintendo Switch, but The Pokemon Company did announce that Pokken Tournament DX would be releasing alongside Pokemon Gold & Pokemon Silver on September 22nd, 2017. You can read more about that announcement here.
Both versions of the game will also be compatible with Pokemon Bank, a service that was enabled for Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Yellow to let users transfer their Pokemon into Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. With the addition of the second generation Pokemon, it should make it more accessible for users to complete their Pokedex in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.
Pokemon Gold & Pokemon Silver releases on the Nintendo e-shop for the Nintendo 3DS system family on September 22nd, 2017.
