Recently uncovered, trademarks were filed as far back as February for two names ‘Solgaleo’ and ‘Lunaala’.
Normally these would have raised flags immediately, although the trade marks were not filed by Nintendo, Pokemon or Gamefreak but by Yusuke Inui who happens to be an intellectual property lawyer in Japan. Though this has not been a process by Nintendo or Gamefreak, it has been exercised by other companies to register through a proxy so it is not out of the question that these trades are for new Pokemon.
We speculate that these are in fact going to be the poster legendary Pokemon for Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. It’s worth noting that the Pokemon names contain the names “Sol” and “Luna” which mean Sun and Moon respectively.
Right now, the only thing we have to go off on are the trademarks which were spotted. We will have to wait for the next CoroCoro magazine, official reveal or alternate leak to give us more information. Make sure to check back regularly for more updates on the story as it progresses.
Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are set to release worldwide this holiday season.
