Sources have told Eurogamer that Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not be released in time for the Nintendo Switch.
One reliable source, Emily Rogers, stated that the game would move into the end of 2016, releasing months ahead of the Spring 2017 window. She was quoted in saying that the game would take “Four-to-six months of testing” post-Switch launch. The news will mean that the official release date spotted on Nintendo’s official website would become false, with the series’ amiibo rumored to launch on April 3rd, 2017.
Of course, Breath of the Wild is no small game, as exhibited in the gameplay trailers released since E3. A video game of this scale takes years to develop, and it is clear that Nintendo is hard at work to deliver a memorable experience for new and old fans of the series.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild releases for the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch in the Spring of 2017.
