Now, even Nintendo is cashing in on the Season Pass model by offering one for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild when it releases on March 3rd.
Purchasing the season pass will net gamers two brand new expansions as they are released later this year. The first expansion arrives this summer, bringing a new difficulty mode, and a new “Cave of Trials” Challenge to the game. The first content pack also includes a new unexplained feature for the in-game map.
The second expansion releases closer to the 2017 holiday season and will include a brand new dungeon with accompanying story line. The season pass costs $19.99 USD and is available for the Wii U and Switch versions of the game, confirming that the downloadable content will be offered for both platforms.
“The world of Hyrule, which we created for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is so large and vibrant that we wanted to offer more for players to experience within it,” said game producer Eiji Aonuma. “With this new expansion pass, we hope that fans will play, explore and enjoy the game even more.”
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild releases exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch on March 3rd, 2017.
