It wouldn’t be a new Nintendo console without the announcement of a new 3D Mario title.
Titled Super Mario Odyssey, Nintendo is bringing Mario into many environments, including a setting that looks similar to the real world. In this adventure, Mario sports his trusty red cap, which now sports a different personality. While it hasn’t been provided with a name, the cap now has some magical properties that act similarly like a boomerang.
Information on the game is still very limited, with the game not being playable until the distant future. Nintendo promises to provide more information in the coming months.
Super Mario Odyssey releases for the Nintendo Switch in Holiday of 2017.
