Today, during the Playstation Experience conference, Naughty Dog officially announced The Last Of Us Part II.
Opening on a desolate property in the forest, the trailer quickly transitions to a grown up Ellie, who fans will definitely remember from the previous games; bloody and beaten up as she serenades us with her guitar, as the camera pans throughout the corpse-strewn house she’s taking refuge in. The trailer ends on a question from Joel, the protagonist and father figure of the previous game, to which she answers with a threat of revenge against those who have wronged her. Not much information is known about the game beyond the brief glimpses of characters we saw in the trailer, other than near-confirmation the Ellie will serve as the protagonist this time around, with Joel serving a supporting role.
The Last of Us Part II doesn’t have a release window at this time, but it is likely that we will not be playing it for a couple years.
