Today, Nintendo released Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch, but it has an annoying feature that needs to be turned off.
While young gamers may be able to appreciate the assistance, experience Mario Kart enthusiasts may have kind it a bit distracting and annoying. What Smart Steering does is place you back on the track if you happen to drift off course. It causes a problem though if you attempt to go through particular shortcuts, which can cause some grief if your intention is to go off course for a couple of seconds.
In fact, with the feature turned on, the game will accelerate your cart automatically. This means that you don’t even need to touch your controller to score the first or second place in a race.
To turn this feature off, pause the game after starting a race and press the “L” button. This will turn the Smart Steering feature off. You will know if the feature is still turned on if you have a stylish yellow antenna on the rear of your kart.
